Newly Announced Casio G-Shock Models That’s Coming To Malaysia Soon

Casio has unveiled several new G-Shock watches that’s set to arrive in the Southeast Asian market soon during the G-Shock 40th Anniversary “Shock The World” event that was held in Bali on Saturday. Amongst which includes The Charles Darwin Foundation for Galapagos-themed GW-B5600CD series, full carbon GCW-B5000 series, Year of the Dragon 2024 MTG-B3000CXD-9A, and the GA-2100RB-3A collaboration model with Indonesian rapper Rich Brian.

The Charles Darwin Foundation series consists of three GW-B5600CD models that feature designs and colours that are inspired by the Galapagos Islands and the creatures that inhabit them. These are available in black and blue, black and green, as well as yellow and black designs – each featuring a unique LED backlight graphic, watch face patterns, and an engraved rear case with the non-profit organisation’s tortoise logo.

It’s also worth noting that all three are made from bio-based resins and come in environmentally-friendly packaging. Being part of the GW-5000 series, the line-up also comes with Bluetooth integration, Multiband 6 precision timekeeping, and Tough Solar charging system.

Casio says these are expected to arrive in Malaysia by year’s end or by early next year, though no pricing has been revealed just yet. For your reference, the series is set to release in Japan on 8 December 2023 for JPY26,400 (~RM837) each.

Next up we have the full carbon GCW-B5000 line-up, which is also based on the same G-Shock 5000 series as the Charles Darwin Foundation collaboration. However, this particular series features full carbon bodies with two unique surface patterns, which are designed specially for the brand’s 40th anniversary celebration.

The GCW-B5000UN-1 variant mainly sports a black colour scheme with a Damascus-steel like appearance, whereas the GCW-B5000UN-6 features a galaxy-like appearance with purple and blue shades as well as bright specks. Again, much like the series mentioned before it, both models come with Bluetooth integration, Multiband 6 precision timekeeping, and Tough Solar charging system.

The full carbon GCW-B5000 line-up will be on the more pricier side, as each model is set to debut with a whopping price tag of RM10,745. You can place your order for the series now via Caso Malaysia’s official website, while delivery is expected to commence late this year.

Originally announced in November, Casio has confirmed that the black and gold G-Shock MTG-B3000CXD-9A Year of the Dragon watch will be coming to Malaysia next year. This particular model features what the brand dubbed as the “Golden Armor Divine Dragon” design, featuring a dragon motif with engraved scale markings on its gold ion plated stainless steel parts. In addition, it also has a resin band with a stainless steel band keeper and a black ion plated rear case, which comes with a dragon engraving instead of the typical Casio and G-Shock brandings.

Other notable features include Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, Bluetooth smartphone link, dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, auto date display, and LED light. No pricing has been confirmed at this time but for your reference, the watch was released in the US for US$1,050 (~RM4,899).

Last but not least, is the Rich Brian GA-2100RB-3A timepiece that’s based on G-Shock’s popular GA-2100 series, which features an octagonal bezel and minimalistic design. This collaborative model comes in bold seafoam green with salmon pink accents, which the artist says is inspired by a guitar which he obsessed over during his childhood. Additionally, the watch’s rear case features the Indonesian rapper’s branding.

The G-Shock GA-2100RB-3A Rich Brian model is set to arrive in Malaysia from 15 December 2023 onwards, priced at RM675. Those interested can now order the watch via Casio Malaysia’s website.

We should also mention that Casio also unveiled several other G-Shock models during the event, which are also planned to be released in Southeast Asia sometime in the near future. However, further details regarding them are still minimal at this time, but we’ll keep you posted once the brand updates us.
