Someone at this year’s Computex somehow managed to sneak a quick benchmark of the alleged AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mobile CPU. Supposedly, CPU-Z benchmarks were taken from the ASUS TUF A14 gaming laptop on display at the brand’s booth.
Supposedly, the TUF A14 was running on an engineering sample of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, with the model number 100-0000009934-37. The clip of the benchmark was initially posted on the Chinese social media platform Bilibili, and shows the sample running on a 4+8 configurations, consisting of both Zen5 and Zen5c cores.
While the new naming convention is a mouthful, AMD has made it clear that the “Strix Point” Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 will be one of two mobile CPUs that are launching this July, both of which are Ryzen 9 SKUs. The second processor is the HX 365 and will feature a 10-core, 20-thread configuration.
Based on the CPU-Z benchmark, the alleged Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 scored 8,893 points in the multi-threaded test, versus the Ryzen 9 7940HS which launched two generations ago. To put that into simple statistics, that’s about a 25% uplift in performance.
On that note, and as mentioned, the first wave of AMD Strix Point laptops are expected to launch from next month onwards. Needless to say, we’ll be looking forward any of the new AI-powered laptops that passes by our lab.
