A Saudi Arabian video game console collector named Al-Nasser recently received a Guinness World Record for doing what we can only describe as inane: connecting 444 consoles in his collection to one, single TV.
We’re sure some of you are scoffing, thinking to yourselves “That’s nothing. How hard can it be?” The simple to that is: very. Unlike old CRT TVs of yore, modern TVs are usually just flushed with HDMI ports and lack the old ports because, well, progress. However, there is a community that create special switches to connect these old consoles to current TVs, and Nasser clearly is a part of that community.
In Nasser’s case, his approach in connecting all 444 of his video game console is nothing short of meticulous, as well as methodical. Due to sheer volume, he also uses a spreadsheet to keep track of said consoles.
On a side note, Nasser made it clear in the video that his favourite console of all-time is the Sega Genesis. The console first launched in Japan back in 1988 and then in North America a year later.
Perhaps the most impressive part about Nasser’s collection isn’t the sheer volume of consoles, but how spotless it is: he literally took his time in ensuring none of the mess that comes with cables is visible to the lens, and his own eyes.
