Malaysia Airlines announced last year that it started offering free WiFi to passengers, though at the time, this only applied to flights on the wide-body planes. This involves six Airbus A350-900, nine Airbus A330-300 and five Airbus A330–200. Now, the airline has announced that the same will soon be expanded to its Boeing 737-8 planes by the end of the year.
Worth noting that as part of the announcement, Malaysia Airlines said that it currently has four Boeing 737-8 planes as part of its fleet. That being said, the airline did say last year that has plans of expanding the number to 25 once 2026 rolls around.
In case you missed it though, the airline extended its free in-flight WiFi offerings to every passenger in the flight, rather than limiting it to just Business Suite, Business Class and Enrich Platinum passengers. The previous data cap of 100MB per sector was also scrapped.
Our editor Heirul also reported on the experience, which you can read more on here. It could also prep you with what you need to know to make use of it if you’re flying soon an a Malaysia Airlines flight that does provide free WiFi. Of course, with that being nearly a year ago, your experience may differ slightly.
