Casio is bringing its ring watch to the U.S. Originally a Japanese exclusive and “the very first ring watch,” the CRW001-1 (as it’s technically known), launched last year as part of the brand’s 50th anniversary celebration.
While at first the idea of a ring-sized watch might seem like a bunch of silliness, it really just shows off the brand’s continued playfulness in an often uptight market. And it’s something the brand must truly believe in, considering how much effort it took to create a miniature version of one of Casio’s classic timepieces.

This full-metal Casio was made using a “special method of metal processing,” which involved injecting a mixture of fine metal powders and resin into a mold. The case, case back, and ring were all molded in one piece, while a special glass adhesive technique was used to ensure a tight seal, a necessity for a watch that is both water-resistant and will need its battery replaced at some point down the way.
The ring watch is a tenth the size of the Casio it was built after, yet still features a seven-segment LCD that displays the time (including seconds) and date as well as featuring dual time and stopwatch functionality. The watch also features three tiny buttons, an impressive feat for something of its size.

The watch’s circumference measures just 62.8mm with an inner diameter of 20mm and is made to fits a size 22 finger (US 10.5, EU U), and also includes two spacers allowing adjustments in size to either 19 (19mm inner diameter) or 16 (18mm inner diameter).
The Casio CRW001-1 comes in at a price of $120, which really isn’t that bad when it comes to watches and all the details necessary to create this little timepiece. It can currently be purchased at various Casio outlets across the U.S. as well as in Japan.
