American watchmaker Timex and New York-based menswear maker Todd Snyder have unveiled a new collaboration, the Timex x Todd Snyder Marlin Automatic. The latest release from the frequent partners sees the duo giving an added touch of elegance to Timex’s most beloved and affordable dress watch.
The Marlin Automatic, which first launched in 2017, is a reissue of a 1960s dress watch from the brand that helped reignite interest in the affordably priced watchmaker. This latest addition between the two American outfitters is one that lends itself well to just about any occasion.

Dressed in a black and gold color profile, the Timex x Todd Snyder Marlin Automatic is all about simplicity. At 38mm, the stainless steel watch is the sort of piece that catches the eye, but isn’t overly gaudy or garish. The gold-tone handset and matching Arabic index provide a nice bit of contrast against the black dial, but do so without overwhelming, instead adding a sense of sophistication to any outfit. The watch comes paired with a handsome black leather strap with a classic crocodile grain.

The watch is powered by a 21-jewel automatic movement that can store up to 40 hours of energy, which means your movement keeps it ticking, and the movement can be admired through the exhibition caseback. It’s also water resistant up to 50 meters, which means it’s suitable for light swimming, just don’t take it snorkeling and try to avoid diving in a pool.

As with most releases from Timex and Todd Snyder, this limited edition comes with a more than reasonable price tag of $279 and the watch can be purchased online or at Todd Snyder locations across the U.S.
At the end of last year, Timex also launched an attractive Marlin Moon Phase Multifunction watch, which pays tribute to both the 1960s and our lunar fascination.
